We provide the service as-is on a free, best-effort basis.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Kekar ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes are published constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 7 days in advance.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Users under 18 should use the Service with parental awareness.
- By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
3. Service Description
Kekar provides:
- AI-powered story generation in Indian languages.
- Text-to-speech narration using neural voice models.
- Speech-to-text input for story topics.
- Document upload and audio reading (Reader feature).
- A voice library with preset and custom voice personas.
The Service is provided free of charge on a best-effort basis. We reserve the right to introduce premium features in the future.
4. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
- One account per person. Creating duplicate accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
- You may delete your account at any time. Account deletion permanently removes your stored stories, uploaded files, and personal data within 30 days.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Generate stories or upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, defamatory, or promotes violence.
- Use the Service to impersonate any person or organisation.
- Attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or attack the platform's infrastructure.
- Use automated scripts or bots to generate large volumes of stories without our written consent.
- Upload files containing malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Use the Service to collect or harvest other users' personal information.
- Violate any applicable Indian or international law.
We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without prior notice.
6. Your Content
Ownership: You retain ownership of all content you upload (documents, voice samples) and of stories generated based on your prompts.
Licence to us: By using the Service, you grant Kekar a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your content for training AI models or share it with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.
Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe the copyright or other rights of third parties.
7. Intellectual Property
The Kekar name, logo, design, codebase, and curated voice library are the intellectual property of Kekar and its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
AI-generated stories are provided to you for personal and non-commercial use unless otherwise agreed. If you wish to publish or monetise AI-generated content commercially, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable copyright law.
8. AI Limitations
Kekar uses third-party AI models (via HuggingFace). You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or culturally insensitive despite our best prompting.
- We do not guarantee the factual accuracy of generated stories.
- Audio quality and generation speed depend on external model availability.
- AI models may occasionally produce unexpected outputs — please review content before sharing it publicly or using it for important purposes.
9. Availability & Changes
We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, AI model downtime, or unexpected issues.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the entire Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that affect stored user data.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Kekar does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that AI-generated content will be accurate, or that audio generated will be suitable for any specific purpose.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kekar and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free-tier users, is zero).
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable Indian consumer protection law.
